So... You may not believe this, but I invented beat boxing way back in the early to mid 70s. I was always being told to "shut the hell up!" all the time by my parents. Who would have known that a couple of noises made by a really bad habit would have led to constant yelling and swearing at me to stop it.

Of course, I was the equivalent of a cardboard box with a broomstick and a shoelace, and these boys and girls now are more like a Fender Strat in comparison. I only ever had a bass and a snare. These people now have full sound systems!

If you don't know the real name of the beatboxer. You can go check Netease music (Chinese platform) and serch their stagename, then you can see his/her real name.

To be honest, this is a really bad idea cuz Netease just use Web crawler to "steal" beatboxer's artworks. But if you really wanna know what's his/her name, this could be one (or the only) way to know.

Hey everyone, Musmak here. I know I haven't been active for a while now, but I came across this Reddit post about how the Wiki finally reached 1,000 articles, and I just had to pop back in to share my thoughts.

THANK YOU to all the active editors and contributors for making this happen. Four years ago, I started the Wiki as a project to pass time during the pandemic. It was just me editing, and while I had big ambitions, I thought I would never see contributions from anyone else. Fast forward to now, with that many articles and 10k+ edits, my vision of a vast collection of beatboxing knowledge has come to fruition. Granted, we are nowhere near 100% completion, but this is a heck of a start.

I still love the beatboxing scene, and I haven't forgotten about this site. I check back once in a while, and I learn about a new event or beatboxer every time.

I want to see the Wiki continue to thrive. I know there's a lot of cleanup to be done. (Zero upcoming events? Ha!)

Unfortunately, I'm still at a point where I'm unable to dedicate time to maintenance and improvements.

...Perhaps a staff team is in order?

In the meantime, let's continue to preserve beatbox history.

There are multiple pages on this wiki that are either incomplete to the point of not being needed, or pages that currently hold no relevance (e.g. small championships). Is there a way that we can delete/purge some of these pages? I'd be happy to do that if I'm added as an admin.

Hewo, I've noticed that there are many people (including beatboxers) creating and editing pages for the wiki, I want to thank you for growing the page and we can learn a little more about beatbox in each country where you are from.

I'm just an editor on the page haha, but we hope everyone's support, share it with more people and read the rules to create the pages.

I was trying to make a wildcard for the GBB U18 but since I am LatinAmerican I don't have good quality, but leaving that aside, I have always been adding more than anything the national beatbox events of a country, I appreciate that you recommend a country that does not have its complete information to collect the information in the wiki bc I am short of ideas, maybe can discover some good unknown bbx'rs :3

I’ve been beatboxing for 6 months or so, but I can beatbox really well. I’m facing one problem though- I can do the inward click roll, the inward tongue bass/oscillation, the inward zipper and the inward lip bass/oscillation, but I’m unable to do the Sega sound. Please help

Ik how the lip roll works, but what type of sound is it if you put it into music. is it like a bass or a snare

What should be added to the wiki? What info should we focus on more?

On this wiki, we do have a list of most available effects on both loopstation artists. But with the growing amount of users that use second devices, I belive a list of second devices would be useful for those (like me) that have use of such a list. Other important things such as remarkable effects/abilities that could be worth noting, notable users, price etc. could also be listed.
