The Beatbox United Online Battle 2022 was an online international beatboxing competition. It was organized and produced by German beatboxers Chezame and SXIN. The event began on March 1, 2022 with Top 16 battles and ended on July 18 with the second round of the Final.
Overview[]
The event was not live. Instead, it used a new "video format" devised by Chezame and SXIN where a battle consists of one video from each participant. Rounds were scored based on 9 categories:
- Originality
- Pitch and Timing
- Complexity
- Enjoyment of Listening
- Video
- Audio
- Battle
- User Voting
- Extra Points
Up to 1 point could be earned in each category, with the exception of Extra Points, in which up to 2 could be earned. A submission could receive up to a total of 10 points.
Points could also be deducted for a late video submission.[1]
Timeline[]
The event was announced on December 26, 2021.[2] The wildcard competition opened on January 1, 2022 and closed on January 31. The wildcard winners were announced on February 14.
On March 17, it was announced that the video schedule had changed "due to some difficulties". The next battle in the lineup, King Inertia vs. Helium, was released on March 29.[3]
On April 4, it was announced that the video schedule had been changed again "to assure the best quality possible for all the rounds." The next battle in the lineup, JordoX vs. Vilardo, was released on April 6.[4]
On July 14, it was announced that Round 2 of the Final would be delayed from July 15 to July 18 due to DEN becoming ill.[5]

Prizes[]
The 1st place winner (Hiss) received a total of €10,000.
The 2nd place winner (DEN) received a total of €5,000.
The 3rd place winner (B-Art) received a total of €3,000.
The 4th place winner (JordoX) received a total of €1,600.
The Top 8 and Top 16 participants who didn't move on each received a total of €600 and €200 respectively.
