The Beatbox Wiki welcomes contributions from anyone who would like to share their expertise on a subject, whether it be the proper form for making a sound or the logistics of a big event. The Wiki strives to be an established and trusted source of information, and in order to preserve consistency and quality we ask that contributors consult this Manual of Style (MoS or MOS) before making any edits.
The "General Rule"
In general, if you are editing an article and unsure if a writing/formatting style not specified in the MoS is permitted, use other articles as references and use your best judgement. Many articles, especially older ones, were carefully written and edited by Musmak to emulate the most appropriate style for the Beatbox Wiki prior to the creation of the MoS. Staff can always tweak edits if necessary to put you on the right track. Contributors are always welcome to ask Staff about writing styles.
Miscellaneous guidelines
Below is a list of miscellaneous style guidelines.
- A hyperlink should generally only appear once in an article. This is especially important to remember for Beatboxer articles, where an event a person competed in can appear multiple times because of more than one achievement. An exception to this can be made when formatting multiple tables within an article.
