Delay is an effect on the RC-505 and RC-505mkII. It adds a delayed sound to the direct sound, giving the sound greater depth or creating special effects.

Parameters[]

Name Value Description Notes
Time 1ms–1000ms, 𝅘𝅥𝅰–𝅗𝅥 Specifies the delay time.
Feedback 0–100 Specifies the number of delay repeats.
E.Level 0–100 Adjusts the volume level of the delay. Can be controlled by the Input Fx/Track Fx knobs.

Time[]

The Time parameter defines the interval between each repeat. Some intervals are small enough to produce a musical note. Most of them are not perfect tones (when compared to the standard 440Hz scale); nonetheless, they can still be heard as notes. Below is a table with Time values and their closest musical note.

Because the Time values have a specified unit (unlike Granular Delay, for instance), the frequency (Hz) of the note played can be calculated by using the following formula:

Time (ms) Frequency (Hz) Closest Note Closest Note's Frequency (Hz) Difference (Hz)

  • After a Time of 32ms, the interval is too large and no specific notes can be heard properly.
