Charlie Pitt,[1] better known as Frosty, is a British beatboxer and looper. He is known for his signature squeak sound, which is speculated to be a variation of the click roll.
In Loopstation battles, he has used a BOSS SY-1000,Line 6 Helix, Novation Launchpad Pro MK3, MOD DUO Dwarf and a TC-Helicon VoiceLive 3 as second devices. (He also used BOMEBOX as a midi translator)
History[]
Frosty is from Swindon. He discovered beatboxing at 14 years old after hearing someone at school perform a basic beat. In an effort to beat him in a battle, he attempted to learn how to beatbox by watching video tutorials. Frosty eventually battled his classmate and won by the votes of two other classmates acting as judges.[2] He was also exposed to beatboxing through online game lobbies.[3]
He invented his name by "trying to think [of] names that weren't taken that sounded cool", starting with "FrostySFX", followed by "FrostyFX", and finally "Frosty".[4]
