Gene V Shinozaki is an American beatboxer and multi-instrumentalist. He is a current member of The Beatbox House.

History[]

Shinozaki was born in California. He was introduced to music at a young age but was generally uninterested in pursuing it; his parents made him learn classical piano and he "hated it", and he declared the saxophone to be "the lamest thing ever" after playing it in the third grade. His interest in music would only be truly kindled after discovering the drums in the sixth grade.[1]

He moved to Boston, Massachusetts to attend Berklee College of Music.[2] He dropped out after 2 years, disliking his experience with the school. He started to tour with his band DC Wonder shortly after.[3] It was around this time that he discovered beatboxing after watching an interview with Reeps One and started to busk in the streets with beatboxing.[1]

He previously performed under the name GVSBeatbox.[3]

Shinozaki has released two albums: "Sound And Human" in 2017 and "Transcend" in 2019.
