The Grand Beatbox Battle 2020: World League (also abbreviated to GBB 2020 or GBB 20) would have been the 12th edition of the Grand Beatbox Battle, an international beatboxing competition hosted by Swissbeatbox. The event was slated to take place from December 4–6, 2020 at Progresja in Warsaw, Poland.
History[]
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, GBB 2020 was postponed multiple times from its original dates of April 3–5, 2020; it was first rescheduled for August 7–9, 2020[1] then later rescheduled for December 3–7, 2020.[2] On October 5, 2020, Pepouni announced that the event, now branded as a "Special Edition", would take place without a live audience from December 4–6, 2020, with a live broadcast being available via pay-per-view.[3]
On October 8, 2020, the event was ultimately cancelled due to "unforeseen circumstances", artists being unable to attend, and Swissbeatbox's inability to "continuously cover cancellation costs". Wildcard winners were instead invited to participate in the Grand Beatbox Battle 2021.[4]
