HIKAKIN is a Japanese beatboxer and looper.

History[]

HIKAKIN was first introduced to human beatboxing in 1998 when he encountered Rahzel. Later, he discovered beatboxing through a Japanese a cappella competition TV show. He was influenced by artists such as AFRA and OKKUN, and learned from videos of Rahzel and Dharni.

He launched his YouTube channel in 2006 and gained recognition in 2010 after posting the Super Mario Beatbox video, which has accumulated over 55 million views.

HIKAKIN is known for co-creating the Beatbox Game alongside Surapurutame[1] and Daichi[2]. The game has been popularized by Japanese beatboxers, including Rofu.

His influence has contributed to the rise of a new generation of Japanese beatboxers. Many, such as Show-Go, have cited him as a key figure in their decision to enter the beatboxing scene.

He has also formed a unit with his older brother, Seikin, and has released songs such as the "YouTube Theme Song".

HIKAKIN is the first Japanese multi-creator YouTuber to surpass 10 million subscribers on YouTube, specifically on his channel HikakinTV.
