The hi-hat is a primary sound in basic beatboxing.
Overview[]
One of the first percussive sounds in beatboxing, the hi-hat sound is created by making a "t" or "ts" sound with one's mouth. There is no clear beatboxer credited with its origin, as it is a sound that can be easily made.
Variations[]
Due it to its accessible nature, the hi-hat has many different variations. It can be closed, opened, or dragged, as well as transformed into the Peh snare.
