La Cup 2013, also known as La Cup Beatbox European Championship 2013, was the 4th edition of the La Cup, an international beatboxing competition held on May 17-19, 2013.
Overview[]
"In 2013, the event changed its name from Maurepas Championship to La Cup and was the first international team battle, with teams of four from the eight major european beatbox countries; Russia, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Hungary, and England.
The concept was inspired from the tennis tournament 'Davis Cup' which was adapted to the Beatbox scene. In the team format, teams are made up of 4 beatboxers battling each other in classic solo rounds and by teams regulated by a buzzer system. The buzzer system is similar to a chess clock, a time limit is set and counts down till one team hits the buzzer and the opposing team clock starts. This alternates till the time runs out for both teams.
Team Germany, which includes beatboxers, Mando, Chlorophil, Babeli, and Robeat won the 2013 tournament.
The event lasted on a 3-day weekend across three different towns in the Yvelines, in 3 different venues: le CAC Georges Brassens, La Clef Saint-Germain and the Café de la Plage."[1]

- Here must be something wrong with the points. Under each solo battle stand the points, under the team battle only the total score is shown. So I calculate "Total Score - Solo Points = Teambattle Score". Don´t know where exactly the mistake is, but anyway, Spain won 34-33.

* COMMUNIQUE: The point systeme was a real challenge for us because we needed to write every points whithout any mistake... To complete that mission we only had one guy at computer and one at papers.
I'm sorry to say that we made ONE serious mistake on the computer during the competiton. During the 1/4 France vs Russia: Beasty vs Vahtang we count 1/1 on our files (3pts / 3pts). But it was 1/2 (3pts / 6pts). We saw that while editing the videos...
We made that mistake with the Zede's vote, we wrote draw instead of "VATHANG's vote". This battle was really close... the 3pts would change everything because it would make a perfect draw between FRANCE and RUSSIA. In this case the rules is an extra round Captain vs Captain. It would be Beasty (french captain) vs Masta Mic (russian captain).
We want to apologize as much as possible to the Russian Team: Masta Mic, Vahtang, Pash and Zheton. Those guys smashed the 1/4 and everybody was sad to not see them in the other location... Russia will be represented in the next CUP for sure
We want to apologize French team, public and supporter too. It makes us all really sad, especially for all the contestants. Our calculating system will be changed and a mistake like this will never happen again !
