The Online World Beatbox Championship 2020 was the 1st edition of the Online World Beatbox Championship, an annual international online beatboxing competition hosted by Beatbox Community. The event, sponsored by Swissbeatbox and Legends Beatbox, took place on the Beatbox Community Discord server and was livestreamed on Swissbeatbox's YouTube channel on August 15, 2020.
The event is a successor to the Beatbox Talk Championship 2019.
Overview[]
As an alternative way of qualifying for Solo eliminations, Beatbox Community hosted 3 battles every Saturday in July 2020 at 7 AM, 12 PM, and 7 PM EDT, where the winner of each battle would automatically qualify for eliminations without needing to create a wildcard.
Timeline[]
Details were announced on July 1, 2020 on the Beatbox Community and Swissbeatbox YouTube channels. Wildcard competitions for both categories (Solo and Loopstation) began the same day and ended on August 1. Loopstation and Solo wildcard winners were announced on August 5 and August 6, respectively (originally planned for August 4 and August 5, respectively[1]). Solo eliminations took place on August 8 and were judged by Improver, Villain, and Elisii.
