
An RC-505mkII unit.
The RC-505mkII is a loop station created by BOSS. It is the successor to the RC-505. The device was made available for purchase in December 2021 through select European merchants and slowly became available in other regions worldwide in early 2022.

On August 5, 2021, BOSS and Swissbeatbox revealed the device through its website and social media platforms, announcing that it would make its debut in the SBX Kickback Battle 2021: Loopstation Edition.
Besides the KBB21 participants, models were also distributed throughout the year to various musicians like loop artist Marc Rebillet.

The RC-505mkII has many upgrades from the RC-505, including:
- 32-bit AD/DA and 32-bit floating-point processing, compared to the RC-505's 16-bit processing
- Four simultaneous Input and Track FX as opposed to three, as well as "four quick-access banks"
- Customizable FX and Track buttons for each phrase track
- New FX, as well as adjustments to existing FX:[1]
- "Radio", which gives a sound a walkie-talkie effect.
- "Sustainer"
- "Auto Riff", which modulates the pitch of a sound in a set pattern.
- "Electric", which acts as an autotune effect.
- "HRM Manual", which adds a harmonized note above or below a sound.
- "HRM Auto (M)"
- "Osc Voc (M)", which receives MIDI input to play an oscillator.
- "Osc Bot", which turns a sound into an oscillator at a specified note.
- "Pre Amp", which plays a sound as if it was being played through an amplifier.
- "Stereo Enhance", which gives a sound a stereo quality.
- "Vibrato", which modulates a sound up and down, creating a vibrato effect.
- "Reverse Delay", which creates a delay effect that is reversed.
- "Warp", which repeats a sound in a similar fashion to Roll.
- "Twist", which creates a riser effect.
- "Freeze", which constantly loops a sound in a certain interval.
- "Gate Reverb"
- "Reverse Reverb", which creates a reverb effect that is reversed.
- The three types of Filter (LPF, BPF, and HPF) are now separate effects.
- Vocal Dist now has different "types" (OD, DS, Metal).
- Pan has been separated into "Auto Pan" and "Manual Pan".
- Slicer has been separated into "Pattern Slicer" and "Step Slicer".
- New faders with longer throw
- A new "Mark Back" function for "enhanced undo/redo flexibility"
- Two XLR mic inputs, two stereo line input pairs, and three stereo line output pairs
- An improved Rhythm feature with "over 200 onboard rhythm patterns and 16 drum kits"
- Improved MIDI control support
- Two external control jacks, each with support for up to two footswitches or an expression pedal
