The SBX Kickback Battle 2021: Loopstation Edition was an online looping competition organized by Swissbeatbox. Similar to the Solo edition, the event took place over two months and consisted of video submissions by participants that were professionally mixed and mastered by the SBX team.

The event marks the worldwide introduction of the RC-505mkII loopstation. All participants used prototypes of the device throughout the competition.[1]
Timeline[]
The event was first announced on May 4, 2021, initially with the subtitle BOSS RC-505 Loopstation Edition. A wildcard competition opened on May 5 (coinciding with "RC-505 Day") and closed on May 23. Eight winners were selected and announced on June 3.[2]
Originally announced to take place from July to October, Swissbeatbox announced on July 30 that the first seeding round would be released on August 8.

Prizes[]
The 1st place winner (Kristóf) received $2,000 and a Fortis Flieger F-43 Triple-GMT watch.
The 2nd place winner (Robin) received $1,000.
All eight participants also received the following items:
- RC-505mkII prototype (replaced by the final product after the event)
- DPA 2028 microphone
- V-MODA Crossfade M-100 Master headphones
