Vinyl Flick is an effect on the RC-505 and RC-505mkII. It mimics the sound of touching a turntable. It is only usable on Track Fx.

Parameters[]

Name Value Description Notes
Flick 0–100 Applies an effect as though you were manipulating the rotation of a record. Can be controlled by the Track Fx knob.

Tips and tricks[]

Vinyl Flick can also be used to divide the time of a track, slowing it down and changing the pitch in the process. If the Flick value is between 0–50, the track will be played in reverse.

Values 0–50 "mirror" values 50–100. For example:

  • 14 will divide the time of a track the same amount as 86 (100 - 14 = 86). The track will also be reversed.
  • 79 will divide the time of a track the same amount as 21 (100 - 79 = 21). The track will not be reversed.

Commonly used values include:

  • 100 – Has no effect.
  • 75 – Divides the time of a track by 4, reducing its pitch by 2 octaves.
  • 25 – Divides the time of a track by 4, reducing its pitch by 2 octaves, and reverses the track.
  • 0 – Does not slow a track, but will reverse it.
